Small Animal Facilities

Clyde Vet Group has three branches within it's small animal division. Our main hospital is in a purpose built premise next to New Lanark Market and this is where our emergency service operates from. There are two satellite branches which provide a more convenient service for our clients that are further away and these are in Wishaw and Auchenheath.

We are a registered Hospital Status Clinic. This is the highest level available to small animal practices in the UK and is awarded by the Royal college of Veterinary Surgeons (the governing body of our profession). For more information about the practice standards scheme you can follow the link provided  -

Our hospital has one dog ward, a cat ward and an isolation ward. Spacious walk in kennels enable large dogs and even giant breeds, such as St. Bernards, to be comfortably hospitalised.

The dedicated cat ward ensures all feline patients are as stress free as possible and our isolation ward minimises the risk of spread of contagious diseases to other inpatients. Both our main cat and dog wards are fully air conditioned. In our cat ward we aim to provide a quiet and calm environment by using pheromone plug ins and sprays along side special cat beds and platforms that allow a greater feeling of security. Fluid pumps and syringe drivers are available to ensure animals on fluid therapy and intravenous medication receive accurate and well regulated therapy and we have an oxygen cage available for patients that would benefit from supplemented Oxygen.

In-house laboratory facilities are available which allow for many useful diagnostic tests to be done and results obtained in a few hours. These include: Haematology, Biochemistry, Electrolytes, Blood gases and Microscopy equipment.

Should your animal require a medical or surgical procedure to be carried out we provide facilities that allow for the very highest standards of care. The Theatre is fully equipped with state of the art equipment including multi-parameter monitors that will measure:blood pressure, oxygen levels, respiration rates, temperature and an eCG (a trace showing the electrical activity of the heart) throughout the anaesthetic. Heating aids, such as heat mats are used with every patient. Dental work and patient preparation are carried out in separate dedicated rooms to reduce infection risk.

Arthroscopy equipment is available to look directly inside your pet's joints and treat problems in a minimally invasive fashion.

Endoscopy equipment allows for inspection / sampling in airways, stomach and intestines. There are various sizes for use in our patients.

Digital Xray and high quality Ultrasound machines are always on hand to provide accurate and timely assessment of all patients where imaging is required.

The Dental suite is fully equipped to deal with routine and emergency dental work.

Should your pet need to be hospitalised at Clyde Vets, you can have peace of mind, knowing that we are committed to providing the highest level of care for our patients.
